Wrong order of citations

Need Answer

Hey there.

I'm currently working on my medical thesis and I encountered the following problem using Citavi 5:

I'm currently using the citation style "Springer basic (number)" and I'd like the numbers of citations as they are occuring in the text in ascending order. As you can see in the the picture below, citation starts with number 2 and then immediately skips to number 4 instead of 1 and 2. I already spent hours on trying to fix that and getting a little desperate now. :/ I'm happy for any hints on this problem.

Best regards

Pia

Dear Pia,

Thank you for your message.

Did you by accident select the citation style "Springer Basic Number (alphabetically)" on the Citavi tab in your Word document?

Please also check that you are using no frames in your Word document.

Kind regards

Dear Jana,

thank you very much for your response. I really just used "Springer Basic Number" and inserted all images as graphics or in tables.

Do you have any other idear why it doesn't order in the right way?

Best regards,

Pia

Dear Jana,

I solved the fist problem after thinking a bit longer about your hints. I used the citation funktion also in some comments for my self, which the programm detected as part of my text, and therefore the order was not right.

Now I have a new question:

How can I change the citation style so that it exactly fits to my presets of the university of cologne? Right now I used Springer Basic (numbers) which is quite close to what I need, but in some places is a point missing or page numbers. I attatched a picture of my guidelines. The order of examples is: magazine contribution, book, contribution of a book, Internet-citation.

It would be great if you could also help me with this.

Best regards,

Pia

Sorry, I forgot something:

maybe the citation style: 'Ethik in der Medizin' is even closer, because we need to write all autores and are not allowed to use et al. . Also we don't need to mention the doi:... number, which is right now written behind every point in the list of references.

Best regards,

Pia

Dear Pia,

I am glad that you could find the cause of the problem.

Thanks for your guidelines. The citation style "Der Merkurstab" also inserts page numbers in the reference numbers.

If you wish to modify the style, please follow our suggestions in this article.

Kind regards
