Why are some references adding a, b, c, after the year?

I thought maybe the references were duplicated in my database and I was citing a different one in different places, but nope, there is only one of that reference in the entire database. I have also refreshed on the Word side, so it's in sync with the database.

Dear Violeta,

If you insert the same title from two different projects into your document, Citavi will interpret this as two distinct titles being added. This also happens when you insert a title, delete it in your project, and then add it to your project again.

Please try the solving the problem by following these steps:

  1. Make sure that your project only contains one entry of the title. Switch to the Citations tab in Citavi’s Word Add-In. You will see a grey icon with two question marks next to the title.
  2. Highlight the title.
  3. At the bottom of the Citations tab, click Assign reference.
  4. Search for the correct reference, select it, and click OK.

For more details, please see our manual: https://www1.citavi.com/sub/manual6/en/index.html?reassigning_references.html

Kind regards
