# Support basic LaTeX/Markdown/Mathjax in annotation

Under Consideration

Hi there,

Just a wish. I don't know how difficult it would be from the technical perspective, but it would be so nice if the built-in Citavi annotation editor could support the basic use of LaTeX-like math equation typing, for example, Markdown, Rich Text Format, Mathjax, or anything that can provide an easier Math note writing experience.

For now, my workaround is to use the stamp feature (to make sure the note is not hidden on the margin) of a pdf reader software to insert the screenshot of the math note written in LaTeX. In doing so, I have to switch among Citavi, LaTeX editor, screenshot taker, and pdf viewer frequently. Quite frustrating.

Thanks!

Best,

Yujun

Hi, Yujun

I've added this feature to our internal wishlist, but can't say when/if we'll be able to implement it, as it is technically difficult to realise.

Best regards

Sebastian

Any news about that? It would be very useful for scientists and math researchers. In this way, annotations in markdown form (with Latex support for maths) could be easily exported to other programs such as Typora, Obsidian, Zettlr or easily transformed into LaTeX.

Thanks
