See Citavi highlights in PDF reader and tablet?

Need Answer

I usually switch between (1) highlighting on my tablet and then syncing to Citavi (which is great) and (2) highlighting directly on Citavi. While I can see my tablet highlights (see .1 in the picture) in the Citavi preview pane, it seems like there is not way I can see my Citavi highlights (see .2) on my tablet or in Adobe or in any other PDF reader. Is there a way to make the Citavi highlights visible?

Dear Serena,

Thank you for your question.

If you are working with a cloud project, we recommed to first creat your highlights on your tablet and to import them as knowledge items in Citavi as a second step. New highlights in Citavi can only be downloaded as new PDF file.

In local projects, it is also possible to export your Citavi highlights to the same PDF file so that you can access the PDF from Citavi and your tablet.

Kind regards,

Jana

Thank you Jana for your quick feedback. Unfortunately I could not make it work. My project is a local one, so I followed the instructions in the second link you posted. After changing the properties, I restarted Citavi (later I also restarted the computer). As you can see below the Citavi highlights are still not visible in the PDF. I am using version 6.3.15.0

Dear Serena,

Thank you for your screenshots.

Please try to export all existing annotations first (as described at the beginning of the article).

Will future annotations now be exported to the PDF automatically?

Kind regards,

Jana

Thank you Jana, I did that and the annotations were exported. New annotations are exported automatically.
