Searching for duplicates improvements

Greetings!

Now Citavi now considers different volumes of multi-volume references as duplicates. Could you change the search algorythm for fix that issue?

Also if 2 references of different types has the same titel citavi considers them as duplicates as well.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Maksim

Could you please upload a demo project for me with which I can reproduce this behaviour? Thank you.

To transfer the files please use our secure upload service

So that we can match the files to the issue, please include the ID #81246 in the message field of the upload form.

Thank you!

Hi, Maksim

Thank you for the project.

I agree with the the duplicates found for the document type File. File number should serve as a distinguishing marker here.

I'm not so sure, however, about Volume in the series. Series in this case refers to series like Springer's "Studies in Economic History". Some publishers assign numbers to individual titles in their series, but this appears to become less and less common.

There is, unfortunately, no dedicated field for the volume number of a multi-volume monograph. You should put that information either in the Subtitle or Title supplement field. It will then be considered by the duplicate matching algorithm.

Dear Sebastian,

unfortunately adding volume number in Subtitlw or Title supplement field doesn't help. Citavi continues to detect such references as duplicates.

And the other issue that I meant. If two different types of references has the same author's name, title and year of publication - they are also detected as duplicates (for example if one author has a thesis and a book with the same title).

Hi, Maksim

I can't reproduce that here. I've duplicated a reference and added "Volume 2" and "Volume 1" as the respective subtitles. These references are not marked duplicates.

Hi, Sebastian

I guess the issue is dealt with the language: I typed in Russian "Том.1, Том.2, Вып.1, Вып.2." - and that doesn't have effect, references still are marked as duplicates.

Hi, Maksim

I've just tried again changing "Volume 1" and "Volume 2" to "Том.1" and "Том.2," without any change as to the duplicate recognition. Could you upload a local copy of a project containing the two references marked as duplicates? Thank you.

Best regards

Sebastian
