Hi,
Will the online version of Citavi be available soon? I am doing the transition to Mac, and unfortunately, I cannot find a better alternative than Citavi software. Thanks.

Hi Pablo,
Thank you for your question.
With Citavi Web we're making good progress and are still on track for starting the beta test later this year.
If you are interested in participating in the beta test, you can register for our newsletter at http://www.citavi.com/startwebbeta
In our manual we explain how to run Citavi on a virtual machine on your Mac.
Kind regards
Jana
Most of the Mac users, clearly prefer not to use the Windows platform or even less, pay for another operating system! It would be great if Citavi could work on both!
Hi Amalia,
Yes, we are planning to start the public beta test for Citavi Web (which will run via your browser on your Mac) at the beginning of next year.
Kind regards
Jana
do you know when will the web version be available? I just changed to mac and i find the solution with parallels desktop really inconvenient.
Dear Ioannis,
In the first half of 2019 we will launch the beta testing phase for Citavi Web, as long as there are no unforeseen delays.
We are currently in our internal alpha testing phase and do not have a publication date yet.
Kind regards
Jana
Hello, any updates on this? You said earlier that in the "first half of 2019 we will launch the beta testing phase for Citavi Web". Did you encounter difficulties?
Since we have been waiting for a solution for years, it is no longer a matter of months. If it will be published in 2019, it would be great. But the German forum here is already discussing whether a change to other software is not inevitable, because many people started with Citavi in their Bachelor's degree and hoped for a non-Windows-Desktop-Citavi for years and are still waiting for it in their doctorate.
Of course, such product policy is actually a private decision of the developers/publishers, but the development of Citavi is largely paid for by public funds/tax money (mainly library budgets, university software license), so actually by all of us.
:-(
Open interfaces with which a broad system compatibility could be established should therefore actually be mandatory. If everyone pays for it, it should not only be available for Microsoft Windows/Word users.
We are currently in the state of performing usability tests. We only do this with a few users, because this is usually enough to detect problems. Once these tests have been completed, the beta phase begins.
Regards,
Peter
Hi,
When will Citavi web be released? We are waiting for it for a very long time.
Thank you very much.
