Thanks for your question! The Picker for Microsoft Edge is planned for this year, but we unfortunately don't have a definite date yet.

Hi, Can Picker be installed in the edge expansion store now? In the just released citavi 6.5, the updated record says Picker can be used in Edge browser, but I can't find it in the official expansion store of Edge.

This means that Picker is still not online in the Edge expansion store, but the Picker of Google store expansion can be installed in the new version of Edge browser(chromium)?

I hope picker can be installed and used in the official development store of Edge, instead of using Google's expansion store, because Google cannot be used in China. I hope to be able to launch the Edge store as soon as possible.

Best regards,

Tom

Hi Tom,

Thank you for your message.

The Citavi Picker is available in the Microsoft Edge store. It should be automatically installed with the update in your Edge Chromium installation.

Please check if you have to activate the Citavi Picker first: edge://extensions

Jana

Hi, Jana B,

But I didn't find it in the expansion store of Edge browser (chromium). Could you send me a link to install Picker online? (Maybe I accidentally deleted the extension)

Hi Tom,

Please reinstall the Picker by performing the following steps:

1. Switch to the Windows Control Panel.

2. Click "Uninstall a Program".

3. Select Citavi 6.5.

4. Click "Modify".

5. In the Setup assistant, click "Next".

6. Next to the Edge Picker, select This feature will not be available.

7. Click "Next" and continue through the rest of the Setup assistant.

8. Repeat steps 4-6. This time, select "This feature will be installed on local hard drive".

Kind regards,

Jana

Hello Joscha,

As soon as the new Chromium-based version of Microsoft Edge is available, it will be able to work with the Picker for Google Chrome.

Dear Björn,

Would you please install the update to the current version of Citavi (6.4.0.35)? If you don't see an automatic update notification in Citavi, you can download the Setup from https://www.citavi.com/download. Double-click the Citavi6Setup.exe file to start the installation.

If you are using the preview or beta version of Microsoft Edge, which is based on the Chromium engine, you can use the new Chrome Picker. To do this, go to https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/citavi-picker/eaandldnbchhjimdfnaagaaidgebplgj/ in Edge and select "Allow extensions from other stores".We will include the installation of the Chrome Picker for Edge in the Citavi setup when Microsoft releases the final version of the new Edge browser.

Kind regards,

Jana

Hi Björn,

The Picker only works with the new Edge based on the Chromium engine. Are you already using this browser version?

Sorry, Jana!

Thx for your prompt reply but this is super user unfriendly, Your suggested solution didnt work. Therefore i decided to install Chorme right away and encountered the next problem. i opned a thread on this topic in the german forum allready.

there is no way to work efficiently that way: it is distubring and frustrating! i did use Chrome and the picker on my other computer without any problems so far -exzept with Cliqz (it blocks the communication betwenn the Picker and Citavi but this seems to be caused by the restrictions Cliqz has inherent) but yersterday i had to encounter two new problems on my working PC at home. Edgde Win X. Later new Chrome version.

so finally i am not going to update to 6.4.035(?) on my working laptop at the university later.

immerhin weiß ich das ^^

Hi Björn,

I am sorry that my suggestion did not work in your Edge installation. Could you please let me know the version number of your Edge browser (edge://settings/help)? Does the Picker not show up at all in Edge or is no information sent to your Citavi project?

In case the Picker should not recognize that Citavi is running, please repair your Citavi installation. The Edge Picker could not be added to the Citavi setup yet as it first needs to be registered in the Microsoft Store. We are in close contact with Microsoft to add the Picker shortly.

Kind regards

Jana

Hallo Jana,

wie gesagt "i decided to install Chrome right away [instead of further messing around with Edge] and encountered the next problem. i opned a thread on this topic in the german forum allready."

und auf dieses nächste Problem nach dem durchgeführten Auto Update auf .035 funktionierte nun der Picker in Chrome nicht mehr...

Hi Björn,

Does the Picker in Chrome still not work after you have repaired your Citavi installation?

Jana
