Inserting knowledge and modifying the text afterwards leads to the disappearance of the green mark
Need Answer
Hi all!
I am working on my thesis and when I am inserting the knowledge to the word document, on the citavi pane there occurs a green mark to show me that item is used. However, after I modify the text on the word doc, the green mark disappears. This makes it hard for me to follow which knowledge item I have used and which I have not. Is there any way to keep that green mark stay after making changes in the text on the word doc?
Thanks in advance!
Zeynep
Hi Zeynep,
Thank you for your message.
If you insert a knowledge item in Word, an invisible bookmark will be inserted before and after the knowledge item.
These bookmarks might be accidentally deleted when you edit the inserted text.
You could additionally edit the core statement of an inserted knowledge item, e.g. place an # before it.
Kind regards
Jana

Hi Jana,
Thank you for your answer! What I was talking about is not an invisible bookmark, but a green checkmark that lets me know that the knowledge item was inserted in your document. When I insert the knowledge, it appears. But when I edit the text on word, they disappear. Is there a way to keep them? I attached an image to show what mark I am talking about.
Best,
Zeynep

Hi Zeynep,
Thank you for your reply!
I am sorry, I should have explained it in more detail.
The green checkmark appears, as long as the invisible bookmarks that Citavi inserts before and after the text of a citation are intact.
As the bookmarks are invisible, it is hard to not delete them accidentally. If the are deleted, the green checkmark will disappear.
Kind regards

Dear Jana,
Thank you for your answer, now I understand. But I am not certain if that is the problem because between the time I made my last comment and now, I did not work on the doc or on citavi, my laptop was off, and now I opened it again and all other green checkmarks also disappeared. It was impossible to delete any bookmarks in that span. Can there be any other reason? Without the green checkmarks, it is really hard to work.

Zeynep

Dear Zeynep,
Could you please let me know the version of Citavi you’re using?
The four-digit version number of the Citavi version you have installed can be found in the "Help" > "About Citavi" menu.

Jana
