Import from Endnote to Citavi covers only 48 % of references

Need Answer

Dear Citavi,

I want to migrate from Endnote X9 to Citavi6. Citavi recognizes the Endnote library with all its 7900 references (including pdfs), but then stops about halfway during import (I have a new HP Spectre with Windows 10 and 16 GB RAM and 1 TB harddrive). What can I do?

Thank you for your help.

Regards from Germany,

Felix

Hi, Felix

Could you please create a log file for us for this import operation? Thank you.

Best regards

Problem solved by following the advice in our manual:

As a precaution, we recommend repairing the EndNote library before importing it. To do so, start EndNote, but do not open any library. Then, on the Tools menu, click Recover Library. Select the EndNote library and click Open. EndNote repairs the library and saves it with a new name.

Dear all,

I am having the same problem now with EndNoteX8 and latest Citavi version, although I did the suggested repairing of the EndNote library before import.

Please advise.

Hello Liana,

Hope you are well

I would suggest trying to install zotero 6 and import the data inside it first (or create a separate profile and import the data there first if you already have an active zotero library).

kb:endnote import [Zotero Documentation]

Then if you need (zotero 6 now has many features similar to citavi with more active English support) , from citavi, you can try to import the library from zotero to citavi.

Citavi in Detail > Importing References > Importing from Other Reference Management Programs > Importing from Zotero

Best wishes and regards
