How to make a separate bibliography for different chapters within the same document?

I am writing my thesis, and I have several different chapters within a single word document. I would like to have a different bibliography for each chapter, and have each bibliography have independent numbering (i.e. each chapter's bibliography starts at 1 instead of continuing the numbering from before). Could you help me figure out how to do this?

Dear Dakoun,

Thank you for your inquiry.

In this case, we recommend that you use separate documents for each chapter. After you finalize your work, please convert the Citavi fields to static text and and merge the documents. This will also ensure your document is outfitted with correct page numbers. Please only use a single Citavi project that you link to each of the documents.

Kind regards,

Damien

Dear Citavi Support,

I am facing the same issue here. I read the answer but this does not look like a solution, but rather a work around. I see this question is quite old, is there a proper solution (ability to create several reference lists within the same document) in the new Citavi version?

If you split the document, you can not create table of contents, table of figures, list of tables, and so on, and also break the sequence of page numbers...

Dear Marcelo,

Thank you very much for coming back to this question.

Please use the option in Word to create a master and several subdocuments for your chapter, see manual.

However, we do not offer an option for separate automatic bibliographies in one document yet.

Of course, you can always create a bibliography of selected references and insert it manually.

Kind regards

Jana

Hi, I have a quite similar problem here.

I'm working with separate documents (Chapt. 1, Chapt. 2 etc), but I don't use Project categories. At the eand of my thesis I want to merge all docs into a single one and have Bibliography at the end and the Bibliography should reflet Works Cited. How can I achieve this?

My first thought is to write at the end all the headings in my thesis as categories and to see if the Bibliography is inserted at the end. But I think it will be to much to write all the categories.

Is any chance to generate a Bibliography in a different way?

PS: I found a workaround.

1. Merge Docs into one and save

2. in Word > Citavi Add-on > Option > Repair It will take all the Works Cited and will be inserted at the end.
