Highlighting on the side?

Need Answer

When I make a comment, the highlight for the comment appears just off the page to the left and I have to hover over that highlight to see the words that it refers to. Is there a way to just show the highlighting on the words directly, so that when I'm skimming a document I can easily see the exact words?

Dear Roy,

Thank you for your message.

Comments are only indicated by an orange bar in the left margin. As an alternative, you could click the "Show in PDF" icon of the comment, see screenshot.

Kind regards,

Jana

Thanks for the follow up. I'm wondering if it's possible to have all the highlighting show of the pdf without having to click the "show in pdf button" -- is there a way to have all the highlights show at all times?

Dear Roy,

There is currently no option to show all highlights in the text body for comments (and also summaries and tasks).

However, if you are working with a local project, you could export your comments to the PDF file.

When you open the file in an external PDF viewer, the annotations are embedded in the PDF.

Kind regards

Jana

Ok, a couple follow ups:

1. Can I do the same if I am working on a cloud project?

2. Since this isn't possible now, can you please add this idea to possible updates please?

Dear Roy,

1. Yes, you can do this also in a cloud project. However, this will create copies of your PDF files that are not linked to your cloud project anymore.

2. I have added your suggestion to our internal wish list for our developers.

Kind regards,

Jana
