Compilation options? Compile selected categories

Need Answer

Hi, is there a way to quickly compile selected categories (not necessarily grouped at subcategories)? I saw that one of the options in Compilation / Print with options is "Knowledge items in the current selection", but it is always greyed out and there is no explanation in the detailed manual. I tried to hold down either Ctrl, Option, or Shift while selecting more than one category but to no avail.

I would like to be able to quickly select categories and to print a compilation out of them.

Dear Serena,

Thank you for your question.

Please use the advanced search to select your categories which you have assigned to your knowledge items and combine them with OR in your search.

In the search results window, select the "Knowledge items" on the left, press Ctrl + A to highlight all knowledge items and click "More actions" and "Apply selected knowledge items as selection", please see screenshot.

Now the option to print "Knowledge items in the current selection" is available.

Kind regards,

Jana

Hi Jana,

Thanks a lot for your quick feedback. I managed to make it work, and this is an extra feature I did not know in Citavi. There is an issue though: the knowledge items so selected will be printed in alphabetical order. That means that I can indeed manually select the categories whose items I want to print, but these items will be all "scrambled" because they are in alphabetical order by title. Is there a way to change the order the items appear in the selection or, analogously, the order in which the knowledge items are printed?

Thank you,

Serena

Hi Serena,

If you wish to keep the order in your previous categories, there is only the option to print one category after the other (or all categories).

Your suggestion, to print multiple categories is already part of our wish list. I have added your vote for this feature.

Kind regards,

Jana
