Capitalization in Titles When Imported Automatically

I'm wondering how capitalization works when automatically importing PDFs. Sometimes all the letters in the title are capitalized, while other times they are not. I just cannot infer any rules it follows. Thanks!

Hi Mingming,

Thank you for your message.

When importing PDFs, Citavi searches the file for a DOI or other identifier and pulls the metadata from Crossref or DataCite.

You can see the source of the metadata on the "Reference" tab in the "Source" field.

The output of the title in your bibliography can later be changed with your citation style.

Depending on the requirements of your journal, you can add a either script COT007 or COT008 to the title components of your style.

We explain here in our manual how to edit citation styles and how to add a script to a component.

Kind regards,
