Adding voice comments features
NEW
It will be useful in some scenarios if it is possible to add/ record voice comments within citavi after highlighting a selected paragraph.
Thanks for your efforts and consideration
Dear Al,
Thank you very much for your suggestion.
If you prefer adding your comments with your voice rather than typing them, you could use a speech recognition software to fill the "Text" field.
Files with your voice recording (e.g. MP3 files) can already be added as file quotations. To link a text passage to this file quotation, highlight it with the snapshot tool.
Then, click the empty chain icon to link the file quotation with the text passage:
Kind regards,
Jana

Dear Jana,
Thanks for the rapid and detailed reply as usual.
I did not know of this way of adding a "file quotation" and linking it to the text. This indeed can add any type of files outside the existing reference and link it to a specific part of the text/reference. In case of trying to have a list of "voice comments" it might be a better practice to save these files in a sub-folder within the same project or in one folder dictated for such voice comments. The file Quotation can even help more by letting me choose to copy/move/or just link the file.
Another way would be using any text quotation and adding a link to the file (Using shift and right click to copy the path and then add the link to the quotation title or text). But is there any way to add hyperlink to text within quotation? I mean something similar to the "Link" icon in this forum's comment box
Sorry for having many questions and thanks again for your helpful and ideas-provoking replies!

Dear Al,
Thank you very much for your friendly reply!
It is a good idea to just link your voice comment files to your reference.
Unfortunately, there is no option yet to link text quotations with file quotations or to add a hyperlink (to a file on your computer or a cloud storage service) to a text quotation. The file or link can only be added to the whole reference on the "Reference" tab.
The connection between knowledge items is something we wish to add to future versions of Citavi.
There is currently only the option to use common groups to illustrate the connection.
Kind regards,
Jana
