Word Add-In won't update no matter what I do

Please proceed as follows.

First, make sure that no Word process is running in the background:

1. Use the Ctrl + Alt + Del keyboard shortcut and click on Task Manager.
2. Look for "Microsoft Word".
3. Click "End Task".

Uninstall the Word Add-In:

1. Open the Windows Control Panel.
2. Click "Programs and Features".
3. Select "Citavi", and then click "Change". The Citavi Setup starts.
4. Click "Next", then select "Modify" and click "Next" again.
5. Click the symbol next to Word Add-In and then select "This feature, and all subfeatures, will not be available".
6. Click "Next" and continue through the Setup.

Repair your Office installation. This ensures that Citavi can find the correct entries in the Windows Registry when you reinstall it:

1. In Windows, switch to the "Control Panel".
2. Click "Programs and Features".
3. Select "Microsoft Office [version number]".
4. Click "Change".
5. Select "Online-Repair".

Re-install Citavis Word Add-In

1. In Windows, switch to the "Control Panel".
2. Click "Programs and Features".
3. Select "Citavi 6".
4. Click "Change".
5. Select "Modify" and then click "Next".
6. Select "This feature will be installed on local hard drive" for the Word Add-In.
7. Click "Next" and complete the setup process.

Thanks, but repairing my office installation isn't an option. I managed to work around this issue by looking up the citavi 6.3 update and installing that. Still, the references list stopped updating. Meaning, I can add new references, but whenever I delete a reference from within CITAVI itself the reference remains in the text's reference list, and these don't change their numbering order when I place a new reference before them.

Hi Victor,

If you delete a reference in your Citavi project, it will remain in the text of your Word document.
