First citation footnote abbreviated

Hello Citavi Team and community,

I am currently editing a working paper using the Citavi Word Add-In and have encountered a problem which needs troubleshooting.

For some references, Citavi abbreviates footnotes even though they have been cited for the first time. I have tried deleting and re-adding the citations. Citavi refuses to add the full citation.

The references are for books, journal articles, and PhD dissertations which are cited in full elsewhere. The document is using the referencing style History and Theory.

When I switch to another referencing style, for example CMOS Chicago Manual of Style, 17th ed. (Notes), the same footnotes are no longer abbreviated.

Is there any way to solve the problem in the first referencing style?

Many thanks

George

Dear George,

In order to determine the cause of the problem, we kindly ask you to send us a sample document. First, please link a new Word document to your Citavi project, and second, please insert via the Word Add-In only those references which have given you problems.

Please send us the Word document via our website at http://www.citavi.com/transfer. At "Message", please enter the following ticket number: #178391, so we can relate the file to the question.

Thank you,

Anne

Dear George,

Thank you very much for sending the sample document.

The cause of the problem seems to be a programmed template condition in the style "History and Theory". We will check the style and let you know as soon as the exact error is found.

Anne

Dear George,

Enclosed you will find a corrected version of the style. May I ask you to check, if you still notice any errors with this version?

Please copy the ccs-file to the folder "Custom Citation Styles", that you can find at Documents/Citavi6/Custom Citation Styles and select the style in the Word add-in.

Best regards,

Anne

Dear Anne,

thank you for getting back to me.

After repairing Citavi and disabling and enabling the Word Add-in, I can confirm that the corrected version of History and Theory in the ccs-file works. I really appreciate your help and support in dealing with this query.

Many thanks

George

Dear George,

I am sorry to hear that you had trouble with Citavi and the Word add-in.

But I am glad you were able to fix them and that the new style version was able to resolve the problems.

Best regards,

Anne
