Hi?Citavi technical supporter?

When I input text in the evaluation window, it cannot be saved many times. The problem still exists even if I manually save it by pressing "ctrl+s". There is also such a situation when entering English. What is the situation in this situation?

Thanks!

Hi,

Does the problem occur with a local project or with a cloud project?

Kind regards

Hi, Peter M.

Thank you very much for your reply, the project is a local file created with citavi6.8.

Hi SL

We have seen an issue when using the Microsoft Windows input helpers for Chinese: When entering text using the input helpers only, it may not be stored in the field correctly.

Could you please try and check if the content is saved in the field, when you enter it directly (without the input helper)?

Kind regards,

Peter

Hi, Peter

Thank you for your advice. By trying to enter directly (in English) there is no problem in most cases. Since Chinese is usually more convenient to input with an input helper, could you give some good suggestions for inputting Chinese in Citavi?

Thanks and regards

Hi S L.

The current situation is really not good. I hope my colleagues can improve it. At the moment I would only offer the detour that you first enter the text in a simple text editor (e.g. Notepad++) and copy it from there to Citavi.

I am sorry not to be able to offer a more convenient solution.

Kind regards

Peter

Hello,

I believe I have a similar problem, though not concerning Chinese symbols:

When entering text in the "Evaluation" text entry window, the formatting (e.g. bold, enumerations, indents, ...) is not saved as soon as I close the window. (see screenshots)

This does not appear to be a problem for the Table of Contents field.

Please let me know, whether there is a solution for this :)

Thank you; best regards

Hi Steffen,

The problem here is different (but also known and soon solved):

You've entered a lot of text and formatted the text. The problem with formatted text is that the formatting itself causes the size of the knowledge item to skyrocket so much that it exceeds the internal limit of 64,000 characters. To save the document anyway, Citavi has to remove the formatting.

Unfortunately, as a solution I can only offer you to attach complex texts as PDF files to the reference. You can then search specifically these excerpts (and other PDFs) for keywords by using the search abbreviation "ft:" (without quotes) in the quick search.

Kind regards,

Peter
