Using Jornal Abbreviation during Export to BibTeX library

Hey there,

so the citation style that I have to use requires me to use the journal abbreviations. I have added these using the add-on that is provided by the citavi software and they are already imported as shown in this article: https://www1.citavi.com/sub/manual6/en/index.html?adding_abbreviations.html

I now would like to export not the full journal name but the abbreviation to the field "journal" in my .bib file for latex to only print the abbreviation in my bibliography. Is there a way to do this or a workaround?

Thanks very much for your help!

Hi, Niclas

Unfortunately, the Bib(la)TeX export is not configurable in this regard at the moment.

How weird because I managed to configure it in the way that I need it.

1st: Download add-on

2nd: make sure that the abbreviations are properly imported

3rd: Export --> Create BibTeX export filter --> under Map Fields choose Journal article --> chance entry journal from Periodical: Name to Periodical: Abbreviation X (either 1, 2, 3).

Works like a charm for me.

Hi, Niclas

You're right, of course, and I have to retract what I said earlier. The fields can be specified as shown here:
