I find useful a tutorial to explain in detail the use of the author component of a citation style. Especially the last part, with the special output and the 3 options.
And another one which could explain the use of template conditions based on cross-references inside the publication.

Thank you very much for your suggestion.
Currently, we only offer a long video on how to use the citation style editor in German. We are planning to add a similar video in English in the future.
I hope that this video can already give you a first impression of how to edit an author component.
The 3 format options you see in the Citavi Word Add-in let you choose fully different output options for individual references.
You could for example set in your citation style the template condition "Format option 1" and add different components to this new template.
This allows you to choose a different output format for indiviual references manually.
We currently offer only an old video in German on how to add this option to your style, though.
How to use template conditions is shown in German in this video.
I know, that this does not replace videos in English at all. However, at the moment, we do not have the ressources to produce them as we are only a small team.
