One author - multiple years
Need Answer
Hello,
I have a problem, I can not find in the Manual - how to insert references in "multiple references" in-text, when there is one author, but with more than one publication from various years. How do I add such a reference?
e.g. (World Bank 2020, 2001, 1999) <- this is how I'd like it do be, but unfortunately, only sometimes it is working like that and I haven't got a clue how to properly do this in Word? What's the procedure?
Citavi newest update 6.6. plus Word from MO Professional Plus 2016
Hello Magdalena,
Thank you for your message.
You can insert multiple citations of the same author just as you would insert multiple citations of different authors, please see our video.
In case the name appear twice, there might be more than one entry of the same person. Please merge them.
Kind regards,
Jana

Hello Jana :) Nice to hear from You!
You're right, It must be an issue with a merger-related thing. I will double-check (because in Word they look alike, but maybe I've made a double spacing or "the" or sth.) whether I've done properly the merger of those or not.
Thanks once again :)
edit: PS> How do I open this "operational" window from the Manual "managing_lists_merging_entries-"?(attached) is it list of persons..."?is shift working there to freely roll the list, as I'd like to merge authors starting with different letters e.g."the world bank" with "world bank" and "the world bank group"?

Hi Magda,
Thanks for your fast reply :-)
Yes, please click Lists > Persons and organizations to access the merge options. You can only merge two entries at the same time. To select the second entry in the list, please press Ctrl.
Best regards,
Jana

This only seems to work if the TWO first authors are the same (and I don't understand why)? Now it seems that e.g. Aa, Bb, Cc 2020 and Aa, Bb, Dd 2021 is fine as (Aa et al. 2020, 2021), but if the references are Aa, Bb, Cc 2020 and Aa, Xx, Yy 2021, Citavi doesn't combine them but they show in-text as (Aa et al. 2020; Aa et al. 2021), which is wrong. Is there a setting that I need to change or perhaps something else I can try?

Hi Ulla,
Thanks for your question.
Which citation style did you choose in your Word document? This might be a rule of the style I can check for you.
Kind regards,
Jana
