Linking files between citavi 6 projects

Need Answer

Hi,

I have a Citavi project that i use as a library, while I have other small projects for publications/papers. I often copy references from one project to another. Is there a way to link the copied references together, so when I edit the PDF file via one project (after I copy it), it automatically updates the other file on the original project?

Hi ElSayed,

Thank you very much for your question - and suggestion.

There is currently no option to link references between multiple projects, or to update changes in one project in a master or parent project.

However, your idea is already listed on our list of suggestions and I have added your vote for such a feature.

Kind regards,

Jana

Thank you. Another question that is related to the first one: oftentimes I assign more than one category to one reference. Then I see my reference under both categories.

I am not sure if the reference is updated automatically as well when I edit it through one category not the other? Or does Citavi creates another copy of the same reference for each assigned category? I did not manage to make sure of the result, if you know?

Hi ElSayed,

Thanks for your reply and further question.

The reference is not duplicated in Citavi once you assign more than just one category. It stays one reference but with two category links.

Kind regards,

Jana
