One reference, multiple knowledge items, one footnote
Hi,
I need some help with one problem concerning multiple citation of classical sources.
I'll give an example, to be more specific. My reference is Caesar and his work The Gallic War. I created the bibliographical reference for the bibliography, I created the citation key for it, so in the footnotes and in-text citations of my paper I'm able to cite him using the short form (Caes. BG 1.4).
My problem appears when I want to make one citation, in the footnote, of multiple texts from his book. Now, when I select multiple knowledge items to insert into the footnote, the result the result is like this: Caes. BG 1.4; Caes. BG 2.5; Caes. BG 5.3; Caes BG 6.8.
What can be done to obtain a footnote with the next form: Caes. BG 1.4; 2.5; 5.3; 6.8?
Is there, after that, a possibility to combine multiple references and knowledge items in one footnote? Example: Caes. BG 2.3; 3.4; Caes. BAfr. 4.23; 5.1; Livy 2.12.3; 39.23.1; 44.14.24?
Thank you.
Hi Mihai,
Thank you for your message.
Are the numbers (1.4, 5.3, ...) part of the citation key or did you enter them in a different field, e.g. page range?
In this video, we show you how to create multiple citations.
Kind regards,
Jana

Hi Jana,
I entered the numbers in the page range field. I transformed the Unknown reference type to make my short name citation.
Thank you for the video. I saw it before, but it doesn't help much. If I want to introduce by hand multiple citations from the knowledge tab I have to write them down before they are entered in the pop-up window. And, when there are more it is a waste of time to do this way.
I wonder if there are some conditions in the footnote style than can maintain the author and/or the work for the first item and eliminate them for the rest, if there are consecutive citations in the same, to get the form that I need.
All the best,
Mihai

Hello!
How did you solve the problem?
I have the same one.
And, in plus, when I need to insert multiple citation with same author, different works, how could I avoit the repetition of the author.
For Ex: instead:
CHIRIL AL IERUSALIMULUI, Catecheses mystagogicae quinque, coll. PG 33, J. P. Migne (ed.), Paris, 1886; CHIRIL AL IERUSALIMULUI, Catéchèses mystagogiques, coll. Sources Chrétiennes 126, trad.: Pierre Paris, P.S.S., Cerf, Paris, 1966; CHIRIL AL IERUSALIMULUI, Cateheze, Ed. Institutului Biblic și de Misiune Ortodoxă, București, 2003.
