Chrome Browser: opening downloaded RIS files in Citavi

Problem

You performed a search in a database and exported the bibliographic information to RIS or EndNote Tagged format. Instead of offering to open the file directly in Citavi, the Chrome Browser downloads the file to your Downloads folder.

Solution

  1. Perform a search in a database that offers RIS or EndNote Tagged as an export format.
  2. Download the text file. The downloaded file is displayed in the bottom left of your browser. Click the downward-facing arrow (1).
  3. In the shortcut menu, click Always open files of this type (2).
